Autumn and winter food growing
Extend your growing season. Learn about hardy crops that you can grow undercover or with some protection over autumn and winter in this half-day workshop. And you’ll take a few seedlings away with you to get you started.
We’ll look at:
hardy crops for your polytunnel and greenhouse,
a couple of outdoor crops and how to protect them,
crops to cover and protect your soil over winter,
how to take hardwood cuttings of fruit bushes,
and crops to start off in autumn or winter to get ahead for spring.
cost £29 per person
This includes all materials on the day and some young plants to take home.

Bring along
Warm layers of clothing, as we’ll be in an outdoor workshop. November can be chilly.
A pair of gardening gloves if you have them.
Any spare small pots that you have – although we’ll have plenty on the day, we love to recycle, so if you have little pots in your shed, bring them along.
